Where

Where in Italy

Casa Colcello is in Umbria which is known as the green heart of Italy. With Tuscany to the North and West and on to the Mediterranean coast. East of Umbria the Marches region stretches from the Southern Apennines to the beaches of the Adriatic. Perugia the area’s capital should be visited for its wealth of art, exquisite architecture and Etruscan walls. You are very centrally located within the country.

Where in Umbria

We are situated in the Upper Tiber Valley an ancient mystical land in the northernmost Umbrian territory. The Tiber river runs through the entire length of the valley making it extremely fertile. This area is known for fields full of sunflowers, tobacco, and poppies; olive oil, wine, and truffles; hills and valleys of natural forest. Festivals, folklore, ancient traditions and gastronomy; Renaissance art and architecture. This is an area less touched by tourism than nearby Tuscany. The people are very freindly. Casa Colcello is to the far North West in one of its eight districts called Monte Santa Maria Tiberina very close to the Tuscan border. Our nearest village is very small hamlet with no shops called Marcignano. Our nearest shop is just 5 km away at Gioiello - another small hamlet pop. 200. You are in a perfect location to visit the key attractions, villages and towns ot this beautiful part of Tuscany and Umbria.
