Hill top villages to explore

Cooking - The kitchen opens on two sides to terraces, one of which overlooks the dining terrace towards the pool. The kitchen is spacious and very well equipped with all modern conveniences with terracotta and old hand painted tiles. Between the kitchen and the lounge there is a large fully tiled bathroom with wet room shower.

Eating - There is a lovely dining room with an architect designed fireplace, a large extendable refrectory table and an efficient woodburning stove for cooler days and evenings.

Relaxing - The large comfortable lounge is a great place to get together socially or for special meetings. It can be a cool spot to have a mid day snooze or read a good book or the place for family and friends to gather, to chat, listen to music, watch a good film, plan tomorrow, or just do nothing. Adults and children will find a supply of books, games, jigsaws, DVD's and videos.

Sleeping - The staircase leads off the lounge to two landing areas off which the bedrooms and three other bathrooms are found - two are ensuite. The five individuallly designed bedrooms have herringbone terracottta tiled floors, beams, antique furniture, good quality throws and cushions, comfy beds, crisp cotton sheets, and feather pillows (hypoallergenic pillows available). We provide towels (not pool) and duvets for autumn and winter. Each bedroom enjoys a different view of the panorama. The master bedroom has the feature of a doorway on to a veranda and an outdoor staircase leading down to the east terrace.

Pool - The large pool is secluded, private and well equipped with comfortable sundowners and benefits from the sun all day long for long lazy days making this the ideal place for the focus of your day. There is outdoor lighting for a midnight dip or party by the pool.

Garden - The garden was landscaped and is now full of mature shrubs, trees and plants. Near to the house there are south facing terraces with a mixture of hard landscaping in stone and gravel as well as grassed areas for sitting out which have been planted with roses, lavender, wisteria, buddleia, pomegranate, rosemary, thyme, sage, grasses, geraniums, bougainvillea, passionflower, jasmine, box, cypress and many more wonderful plants typical of this area of Italy. You must spend at least one night stargazing there is no light pollution here and the stars on a clear night are spectacular.

Incredible views and occasionaly a stunning sunset

Visitors' Comments

"We had a wonderful holiday at Casa Colcello - it was very relaxing and we thought that the house was lovely and beautifully furnished and decorated. We had some lovely meals at the local pizzeria and also made it to Fez's . Celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary at Il Postale which was a real treat. Had trips to Assissi and Perugia, but mostly just relaxed by the pool and had lots of long lazy lunches! Great welcome meal  from Marianna's family - kept us going for a few lunches as well. - Marianna was very helpful, it was very useful to have a fluent English/Italian speaker at the end of the mobile.

Many thanks for the use of your wonderful house - we can easily see why it is so special to you. (Enjoyed the great selection of books there too. I think my sister in law has borrowed one which she will send back to you, hope that's OK. The children loved the selection of videos and DVDs as  well - bought us some extra peace by the pool!) "

Kind regards,
