CASA COLCELLO - is our self catering holiday rental farmhouse villa with private pool on the Tuscany Umbria border. It is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a luxury holiday in privacy, space and comfort. Encounter the rural culture of this charming undiscovered region of Italy in an authentic stone villa, with pool, that has been recently renovated to the highest standards to create a home from home.

Formerly a farmhouse - our villa farmhouse is set five minutes climb up a white road. Enjoy the peace and tranquility, breathe the clean hill top air, hear the birds and cicadas and admire the breathtaking views from the extensive south facing terraces catching the sun all day long. There are a very few other houses in sight, no traffic noise except the occasional farm car or tractor. You are away from it all in the hills of Tuscany and Umbria.

The villa has been beautifully restored to blend terracotta floors and wooden beams with quality furnishings and equipment to create a house which has kept its traditional charm while responding to modern needs for space, comfort and style for an unforgettable holiday in Tuscany and Umbria

Our holiday rental villa has a large secluded private pool (12m x 6m) that benefits from the sun all day and overlooks the wooded valley to Monte Favalto (1082 metres) and the rolling landscape of other ridges of Tuscany and Umbria.

This is not just a self catering holiday villa. Enjoy your own 10 acre estate to roam with olive trees, wild meadows, and woodland walks amongst oak, chestnut, pine and cypress. This is county life in Italy at its best. You may even see eagles, deer or porcupine or hear the sound of a wild boar.

The house is looked after by Patrizia and Marianna who live in the area. They both speak english fluently. Apart from managing the house, they can provide cooking for you at home - italian home cooking made from fresh local ingredients or they can deliver food to the house. They are also available for babysitting and can provide a taxi service to or from airports, train stations, and also in the area to nearby cities or restaurants. Patrizia is a qualified walking guide and can provide guided walking tours of the area.

If you can manage to tear yourself away you will find a Panzano food/wine store and pharmacy in the tiny hamlet of Gioiello (just 5km away) and a couple of supermarkets, butchers, bakers, bank, newsagent, post office etc at San Secondo ( only 9km). Two restaurants in Monte Santa Maria Tiberina only 10 mins away. and an excellent selection of shops, restaurants, places of interest, activities and happenings in the local towns of Citta di Castello (18kms), Monterchi, Anghiari, and Sansepolcro - as well as being in a perfect location to visit the key attractions, villages and towns of this beautiful part of Tuscany and Umbria - Florence, Perugia, Assisi, San Gimignano, Sienna, Urbino, Gubbio, Chianti region and Lake Trasimeno for all watersports. You also have the convenience of several international airports and motorway routes.

Our self catering holiday rental villa with pool makes a wonderful summer venue but spring, autumn and winter are all wonderful seasons to enjoy Casa Colcello. We have full central heating and woodburning stoves for the cooler times of year in Tuscany and Umbria. Spring brings the spring flowers and the forests begin to burst with life. Late summer and autumn is a special time with wonderful autumn colour - wild blackberries and plums to gather, aswell as the olives becoming ready for harvesting in late October and November. It is of course cooler out of season and for some that means they can really enjoy fully all the activities and sightseeing opportunities.

You will find plenty to discover, explore and do locally - museums, galleries, medieval hill top towns, golf, walking, riding or hiring a bike are just some of the things you can enjoy. Try to see some of Pierro della Francesca’s Madonna del Parto in the little village of Monterchi (25 mins) and other works at Sansepolcro, Arezzo and Urbino. There are many concerts and festivals in the area in summer.

This area of Tuscany and Umbria is known for fields full of sunflowers, tobacco, poppies and wheat, olive oil, wine and truffles, hills and valleys of natural forest, traditional and modern festivals - Umbria Jazz is an international jazz festival held in July and December in Perugia and in nearby Montone they have a summer film festival, folklore, ancient traditions and gastronomy, superb light and air, Renaissance art and architecture. First of all thank you very much for Patricia!!!We have found villa so crystal clean that never met even in Finland. It?s very cozy house and really well equipped.We are sure now that Italian people, at least in Umbria, are similar Russian people.It?s same tradition - invite everybody treat
